During my interview last week I ended up talking about my dissertation where I researched literacy and the continuation of reading after the age of 7. When I got home I kept replaying the conversation and had an idea.
So here I am, writing a book for teens. It’s a book that contains literally everything. Gender neutral. Fictional and non fictional work. Creative exercises, a journal, a safe space, advice, fun and lots of information on everything a teen needs to know.
I really want to include important topics such as LGBTQ, BME rights, Mental Illness etc etc. so if there is anything you feel is important to include please let me know.
I’m already 30 pages deep and absolutely chuffed with how it is coming together. Also, can’t stop staring at my cover… I love it. But what do you think? Is it too feminine?
Here is where you come in! I would be MASSIVELY grateful if you would give me some feedback on the following questions:
What kind of things did you enjoy reading as a teenager?
If you read magazines what were your favorite parts?
What were you most worried about during this time of life?
Do you have any ideas?! If you want to be involved just get in touch!
