A new job

I have great news, I have a new more permanent job!

I’m now an English teacher to Grade 2 (8 years) in a bilingual school. I take all subjects in English and work 50% with a Swedish teacher, we swap between two groups every day.

I applied for the job on Tuesday, had an interview on Wednesday and started on Thursday. It’s been quite the whirlwind and I’m absolutely exhausted.

The students haven’t had a teacher this school year so it’s a huge challenge and hence the need for me to start immediately.

I never thought I would ever get to be a teacher and have my own classroom, and my dreams come true!

I’ve only really spent time with my mentor class so far, we decided that would be best for now until the new timetable is ready. A few of my students can’t speak English at all, and some can’t even speak Swedish so I’ve spent the weekend getting picture communication cards and things ready for them.

I’ll keep you up to date, and tell you more as I go along, I may be a little quieter than normal though!

Love Louise x
